Tonight, I’m having a Casa Fuente in the Churchill format. I love Casa Fuente cigars, and I almost flew to Vegas a few months ago for the primary purpose of acquiring a bunch of them. Fortunately, they have been easier to purchase at local shops.
Cut with a v-cut and we are underway. It opens medium full with plenty of subtle spices, cedar, and typical Cameroon flavors, along with very little pepper on the retrohale. Just a beautiful cigar to close out the evening, paired this evening with a Cherry Coke and some Woodinville 8 Year Straight Bourbon.
As we get to the middle third of the Casa Fuente, the flavors are slightly more intense but with a tremendous balance. The strength remains solidly medium-full, and the burn line is mostly rock solid. Unfortunately, the wrapper cracks a few times, as is typical for Cameroon wrappers. It is just something you get used to with most of them, but it doesn’t really impact the smoking experience very much.
The finish of the cigar tames down a little bit and yields a tremendous combination of baking spices and cedar. As a Cameroon wrapper junkie, I’m very happy as always.
I’ve had this cigar in several vitolas over the years. Regardless of the size, this is one of my absolute favorite Cameroon cigar blends. Worth every penny. OR: 9.1
