Review #9 – Diamond Crown 125th Anniversary

Released by Diamond Crown for their 125th Anniversary in 2022. According to comments in a previous post (https://www.reddit.com/r/cigars/s/hAbyOl1ieS), the cigar was not intended for retail sales, but I have found them in a couple of brick and mortar shops in the past few months. One shop charged me $35 with a one per week limit but a second shop has them for $20 with no limit. Go figure. Keep an eye out in your local area, in other words.

No information about the blend is available online as far as I can see, other than aged Dominican tobacco. Lush smoke with cedar, almonds, and even a bit of a buttery note. More strength than I was expecting giving the lighter wrapper, but only at a medium full. Solid burn line but the ash is toothy and rather flaky. Not much pepper on the retrohale until I get a little more black pepper on the final third.

Diamond Crown flies a little under the radar compared to other manufacturers but they have a number of quality products, but this is a fantastic cigar well worth the experience. Rating: 9.0. Absolutely would smoke them again as often as I could find them.
